While places like Vail and Aspen can be a bit crowded for skiing, it’s almost hard to get away from that “big city” feel, but in a place like Crested Butte, a millionaire can relish in the simplicity of what the Rockies can offer. Private jets land in Gunnison airport, which is only a 30-minute drive outside of Crested Butte. Skiing, fishing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, and great bars and restaurants, “the Butte” becomes your own town, where after a few days you get to know everyone and how to get around.
The town of Crested Butte gives off this happy, laid back vibe, with the colorful cottages of shops, restaurants and bars, all along Elk Ave and the hipsters that run them. The locals say the summer is just as fun as the winter time, if not better! Definitely worth the visit!
